A familiar face in our BID is leaving us to join the military and serve his country. Samedy Em joined our Public Safety Team in September, 2020 after working at Delta Airlines as a ramp agent. He was promoted to Captain and Post Commander of our safety team in January 2024. His exemplary service in the field included a March 21, 2024 apartment fire where Capt. Em rushed inside the burning building at 745 Stanford Ave. to evacuate residents and lead them safely outside.
Capt. Em has enlisted in United States Army and will serve as an airborne infantry soldier. His basic combat training and advanced individual training will be at Fort Benning, Ga. During his five years of service to the BID, his character and integrity have been consistently on display. We wish Capt. Em continued success in all his future endeavors.
