Our flower district stores are a “must” for bargain hunters as the holiday season draws near. The Day of the Dead in November and Our Lady of Guadalupe in December are celebrations in the Latino community that depend on flower arrangements, some of them quite large and unique. The BID’s role is to provide a visible public safety presence for customers and businesses, and to address the large trash impacts from greenwaste. The BID also works closely with the Department of Transportation, hiring additional traffic control officers to add to the City’s minimum deployment. This helps to discourage violations that could result in vehicle or pedestrian accidents. With all of these assets in place, the BID can help promote a safe – and colorful – shopping experience.
