It’s impossible to miss the impact that graffiti has in the Industrial District. Walls are covered sometimes as high as the buildings themselves, with markings that some consider art but in reality, are vandalism unless permission is granted by the property owner.
The BID has a dedicated team of graffiti busters, beginning with our public safety officers who make a list at 5am of the buildings that have been tagged overnight. Our maintenance crews then spring into action, attempting to paint over as much graffiti as possible from walls, doors and fences. Between January 1 and March 31, our teams have removed 111,000sf of graffiti! We are proud of the work we do.
