Your BID Clean Team is Hard at Work 6 Days a Week!
The Industrial District faces a constant onslaught of illegal dumping, graffiti, and general detritus from our houseless population. The BID clean team works hard every day to keep the streets clean and clear of trash and debris, human waste and drug paraphernalia. They are in the field all day clearing piles of debris off the street, keeping gutters clear, painting over graffiti, sweeping and power washing sidewalks.

Street Sweeping

Trash Removal

Graffiti Removal
The BID has a dedicated team of graffiti busters, beginning with our public safety officers who, every day, make a list at 5am of the buildings that have been tagged overnight. Our maintenance crews then spring into action, attempting to paint over as much graffiti as possible from walls, doors and fences.
Tree Trimming
The BID regularly trims the trees in the district to ensure the safety of pedestrians and vehicular traffic, alike. Thanks to the assistance of personnel from LAPD, LA Sanitation, and the Department of Transportation, we are able to perform this work safely and without harm to anyone living on the street and with minimal impact on traffic and pedestrians.
Weed Abatement
Our clean team regularly uproots the abundance of weeds growing around our district streets and sidewalks.
Our Partnership with Chrysalis
The BID currently contracts with Chrysalis for its clean team services. Chrysalis is a non-profit organization whose mission is to prepare formerly homeless individuals for reentry into the workforce and places them in transitional and permanent jobs.
The Industrial BID currently has a crew of 21 Chrysalis workers in the field. These are men and women graduates from Chrysalis’ rigorous job-readiness program and who’ve received individualized supportive services. In their 40+ years of service, Chrysalis has served over 85,000 individuals and the Industrial BID is proud to partner with them.
