The first ever 12-step recovery program exclusively for women has opened its doors inside the Midnight Mission. Twelve private rooms will house up to 24 women at a time enrolled in a 6-to-18 month residential recovery program. There’ll be 24/7 support from an all-female staff and programs offered include therapy, case management, legal advocacy and peer counseling. The Clare E. Women’s Recovery Center was created to help women on skid row escape the abuse, addiction and trauma of the streets.
Among the speakers at the ribbon cutting were Industrial BID Executive Director Estela Lopez, LA City Attorney Hydee Feldstein Soto, former City Councilwoman Jan Perry. BID Board Chairman Sergio Moreno was a special guest.
