PHILOSOPHY
Fathom and Form aims to bring conceptual designs and built environments closer together through the use of DESIGN INFORMATION to more accurately fulfill the original DESIGN INTENT.
Traditionally, design information has existed as a linear academic formula. Architects dictate the design process and flow of information, the subcontractors react. Both sides are creatively problem solving issues that the other is making or compounding.
F&F proposes a challenge to that hierarchy. By integrating expert fabrication knowledge at the design table earlier in the process, we can reduce communication issues between designer/builder and respond to constraints in real time, while recognizing creative trade opportunities and stabilizing budget.
